pee are eye oh are eye tee eye zee(zed?...) eee
It's been another little while (big while) since ive bloggged... for all those lazy people ill try and keep this one a LITTLE bit short?.. so READ, or.. be..gone? (bye edwin)
SO, for those of you who were too lazy, or couldn't figure out what the title was.. The word is PRIORITIZE.
just some thoughts as of late.. or something that ive been learning a bit about...
learning to prioritize.. so.. as followers of Christ, we should have God, as our number ONE priority. WHy you say? well, we owe our ALL to HIM who created us. to him who sent His ONE and ONLY son to DIE for US. (keeps listing all the wonderful things GOd has done for us..) Soo, As Christians, God should be our priority.. right? HOwever.. why are we sometimes too busy for him? why is it that we cram everything else in, and run out of time for HIM? We should be giving our time to HIM, and then HE can deal with EVERYTHING ELSE. Let GOd take care of it.
Matthew 6:33
But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.
It seems like it's such a pain sometimes to have to spend time on God i guess eh? Like.. ugh.. there goes another half hour.. there goes my precious (insert school subject) time! however.. give God the time he deserves... or at least some of it.. (he ACTUALLY deserves ALL our time. =p ) and with this, everything else will work out in the end. Read verse above. HOw is it gonna work out? dont ask me.. ask God. He knows. Go talk to Him! he'll help you out. =)
So.. not quite getting it yet? here's a quick analogy shown to me by mother a long time ago... Basically. there's a jar. Ping pong balls. Sand. The jar, represents our life. Ping pong balls - these represent all the big, ACTUALLY important, things in our lives. This, is where God should be. The sand, represents all the smaller, less important things in our lives. You know what goes under this category right guys?
So when we put all those smaller things in our life, we have no room left for the bigger things. We fill up that jar with sand... and then the ping pong balls dont fit in. When we put those bigger things in first, everything else fits in around it. We fill that jar with ping pong balls, and the sand will fill up the rest of the spaces.
Here's a VERY GOOD 5 minute diagram i drew on the BEST program ever. paint i love you.

How could you "spend time on God" (in distinction to not) if your entire life is supposed to be worship? If your entire life is supposed to be in service to God?
I argued that excellence is a glorifying reflection. See here http://netagora.blogspot.com/2005/07/on-honoring-god-p1.html
Our life is supposed to be worship.. supposed to be service to God.. but if we don't give Him any of our time are we really glorifying Him? Our excellence is a glorifying reflection of our Master.. but how can we say that he is our Master when we don't even know him? Many people can do good things and be excellent in all that they do, and don't have to be Christian. These people, don't really have this God that they point others to. If we don't spend some time getting to know our God, how can we point to our God and say that he is truly our Master.. that he is the one that we're learning from.
Hmmm, i don't really know if i made a point or not... and arguing with Jashen feels kinda like... what am i doing!? im bound to lose. haha. but yes..
HAHAHAHHA Ping Pong balls.
Heh. Jashen makes me feel dumb. 'Nuff said.
Eye elle eye kay eee ess pee eee elle elle eye enn gee elle eye kay eee tee aitch eye ess! =D
...yep. Hi Wesley. *waves*
Don't assume I argue things I believe, or that I think are actually defendable. Whee. Bat -> storm.
My question is, why talk about giving time to God if it's the totality of being that's supposed to be given over? It's like having a bank account (with a lot of money in it) dedicated solely to a charity, and talking about donating a couple dollars. If serving God is supposed to require everything, then amounts time is not a question. If everything is required, then we cannot talk about giving in parts. Everything--which includes the parts--is required. Meeting this standard, therefore, becomes an either/or matter.
Btw, there are two main analogies used in the netagora argument. The first one is the master-student one, and the second is the patron-client one. Both analogies would be familiar to Jewish peasants. For the first analogy, people would be aware of how rabbis took in students. The important aspect of this is that students would go and live with the rabbi, watch him go about his life, and essentially learn to BE him. A student was presumably a reflection of his rabbi. In this way, our excellence reflects well upon God. For the second analogy, the gifts of the patron demonstrate the power and honor of the patron. We talk about spiritual gifts, and properly trained and honed spiritual gifts are a mark of excellence. Owing these things to God, therefore, is again a glorifying reflection.
